South Torrance football player Kyle Brown is the Southern California News Group's High School Boys Athlete of the Week for Aug. 28-Sept. 3 after he received 57.45% of the vote at the deadline Thursday. South Pasadena's Jason Hong (football) finished second (21.99% of the vote) and Mater Dei's Elijah Brown (football) finished third (12.06%).
